5. Turn switch (A) to “RUN” position (I).

6. Pull choke (B) all the way out (close choke) position.

7. Push purge bulb (C) 10 times.

8. Pull starter handle several times until first starting sound is

heard. (Secure unit on ground with your knee or foot) (5-6
pulls maximum).

9. Push choke (B) all the way in (open choke) position.

10. Pull starter handle again.

Note: If engine does not start after 5 pulls, repeat instructions.

Note: Do not increase engine speed while chain brake is locked. Severe brake damage will result.

Starting Hard to Start Engine

Clutch engages and chain may rotate when engine is started
with throttle lock button engaged. Do not start engine before
chain brake is locked.

1. Ensure that there is fuel and chain oil in the tanks.

2. Move chain brake lever fully forward to lock chain brake

before starting.

3. Lay unit on a flat, clear area and keep bar and chain clear of

all obstacles.

4. Press throttle trigger lockout down, squeeze throttle trigger, and push in throttle lock button (D).

5. While depressing the throttle lock button, release the throttle trigger and then release the lock button.

6. Move ignition switch (A) to “RUN” position.

7. Pull starter handle.

Note: Do not pull starter rope out to the maximum possible position.

Do not allow recoil handle to snap back against the casing.

After starting the engine, immediately squeeze and then release throttle trigger to release throttle
lock button, otherwise severe brake damage may occur.

Never use throttle lock button for cutting.

Use the throttle lock button only in starting.

Note: Do not increase engine speed while chain brake is locked. Severe brake damage will result.
