RAID Level 0 Introduction

(Optionally Supported)

RAID level 0 is normally used to increase performance, which splits data evenly across two or more

disks with no parity information for redundancy. This allows one of the drives to read data while the

other drive is searching for and reading the next block.

NOTE: A RAID level 0 can be created with disks of different sizes, but the storage space added to

the array by each disk is limited to the size of the smallest disk.

CAUTION: RAID level 0 provides no redundancy. Therefore, a failure of one drive results in the loss

of all data. Regular backup helps data protection.

RAID function may be

optionally supported by

model.
