STEP 8
Find the three M6 x 1.0 x 45mm button head cap screws from the hardware kit, as well as the two
manifold body gaskets, the spacer plate, and the manifold front plate. Insert a gasket between all
manifold body components, (body, spacer plate, and front plate), and using the
top three holes, secure with the three button heads. Tighten securely. At this time,
you may tighten the single hex bolt installed in Step 6, and bend the lock tab
against one of the flats of the hex bolt. (See PIC.6)
STEP 9
Observe the two threaded holes in the top of the Hypercharger. Both are drilled
and tapped. Plug the rear hole using the 3/8”–24 set screw. Insert the 1/4” NPT
elbow in the front hole so the threaded opening faces forward. Thread the nipple
into this elbow so it faces forward.
STEP 10 Remove the trap door from the front side of the Hypercharger. Affix one adhesive
backed intake gasket over the opening in the back-side of the Hypercharger
(PIC.7).
STEP 11 Observe the mounting holes inside the Hypercharger. Note that they use two
different diameter bolts, in a criss-cross pattern. The 1/4”–20 x 1-5/8” and
5/16”–18 x 1-5/8” socket heads are used in the top mounting holes, and the
1/4”–20 x 2-1/4”, and 5/16”–18 x 2-1/4” socket heads are used in the bottom
mounting holes. Mount the Hypercharger securely to the manifold body as in
PIC.8.
STEP 12
Replace the trap door on the Hypercharger.
STEP 13
Install the crankcase breather hose onto the nipple from Step 9.
STEP 14
The large fresh air hose (biggest diameter hose) will be left open — tuck it out of
sight.
STEP 15
See PIC.9. Attach the vacuum hose to this nipple, and run the hose down to the
bottom front area of the Hypercharger. Attach as shown in PIC.10.
NOTE:
California models refer to FIG 1, page 4, for the location of the vacuum
port. You will need to use the supplied “T” fitting in this line.
STEP 16
Now is a good time to install the Wild Things control box (not included) if you
choose to use one.
STEP 17
Re-install the fuel tank, being certain all hoses are reattached to where they were
removed. Re-connect the positive battery cable. Replace the seat.
STEP 18
Double check the tightness of all related fasteners, check for hose
clearance and check throttle for correct operation, making sure it returns
properly, before starting the bike.
ATTENTION! It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners
(including preassembled) are tightened before operation of the
motorcycle. Küryakyn will not warranty components lost due to improper
installation. Periodic maintenance may be required.
