STEP 9
Insert the two supplied 1/4”–20 x 3/8” Hex Head Cap Screws through each side of the 90-degree
top bracket on the Chrome Carburetor Top/Inner Cup, through the Front and Rear 26 Degree
Cylinder Brackets and fasten with the supplied 1/4” Chrome Split Lock Washers and Acorn Nuts.
Do not tighten the fasteners completely at this time, leave them finger tight. PIC 4
STEP 10 Take note of the raised boss near the front, right screw on the stock carburetor
top; the new Chrome Carburetor Top/Inner Cup also has this raised boss and must
be installed in the same orientation. While holding the stock carburetor top in
place against the tension of the slide spring, carefully remove the four Phillips
screws securing it to the carburetor. Set the screws aside and slowly remove the
stock carburetor top allowing the slide spring extend out of the carburetor body.
Leave the slide spring in place and be careful not to disturb the slide diaphragm.
STEP 11
Using the stock fasteners, carefully install the Chrome Carburetor/Inner Cup –
Cylinder Bracket assembly. Make sure the slide spring is centered in the new top,
the slide diaphragm is in place in the carburetor body, and that the raised boss is
in the correct orientation as noted in STEP 10. See PIC.5.
STEP 12
Securely attach the 26 Degree Cylinder Brackets to the cylinder heads using the
stock fasteners removed in STEP 6. Tighten the fasteners securing the 26 Degree
Cylinder Brackets to the Chrome Carburetor Top/ Inner Cup now as well.
STEP 13 Loosely mount the Main Support Bracket. Install the supplied M6 x 1.0 x 30mm
Socket Head Cap Screw and the Chromed, Tapered Bolt Cap at the bottom of the
bracket. With the supplied gasket on the outside of the bracket, start an
M5 x .80 x 16mm Hex Head Cap Screw with an M6 Split Lock Washer in the lower
right air cleaner mounting hole. See PIC.6.
STEP 14 Thread one of the supplied 90-Degree Elbows into the threaded hole on the side of
the Carburetor Manifold included in the kit. Put the Carburetor Manifold in place,
slipping the slotted mounting hole into position on the fastener you installed in the
previous step. Install the M5 x .8 x 16mm Hex Head Cap Screws with M5 Split
Lock Washers in the remaining two mounting holes. Once all fasteners are in
place, tighten them all securely. Connect hose “C” from STEP 5 to the 90-Degree
Elbow with the supplied 7/16” Spring Wire Clamp. See PIC.7.
STEP 15
Adhere the supplied Adhesive Gasket to the Carburetor Manifold. See PIC.7.
STEP 16
Install the remaining 90 Degree Elbow into the threaded hole on the back of the
Hypercharger.
STEP 17
Remove the outer half of the Hypercharger body and the filter element. The outer
half is secured with three socket head screws. It is also necessary to remove
the outer two socket head cap screws from the butterfly shaft caps. Using the
three supplied 1/4”–20 X 1/2” Socket Head Cap Screws, fasten the inner half of
the Hypercharger to the Carburetor Manifold. Reinstall the filter element and the
outer half of the Hypercharger.
STEP 18
Connect Hose “A” to the 90-Degree fitting you installed on the back of the
Hypercharger in STEP 16. Connect the vacuum line from the “T” fitting to the
vacuum nipple on the bottom of the Hypercharger vacuum pod.
STEP 19
Set the fuel tank back in place and secure with the stock fastener. Reinstall your
spark plug covers, and put the seat back on.
STEP 20 Double check the tightness of all related fasteners, check for hose
clearance and check throttle for correct operation, making sure it returns
properly, before starting the bike.
ATTENTION! It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners (including
preassembled) are tightened before operation of the motorcycle. Küryakyn will not
warranty components lost due to improper installation. Periodic maintenance may be
required.
