Electronic signatures can not be deleted or overwritten as long as the file has not been

altered. If a signed profile is altered (menu: Wrap-Up profile) or an existing profile is saved

under a different name (menu: save as …), all digital signatures are deleted.

9.3 Protection against unauthorized intervention

While CELSIUS FDA is running to control a MEMMERT

equipment or to produce a protocol, the programme

can be protected against unauthorized intervention by

the current user through applying a password. The user

has to input a password (menu entry: „Security“

→“Lock

CELSIUS“). CELSIUS FDA can be unlocked by the input of

the same password which has been used to lock it.

The password makes a distinction between upper

case and lower case characters. It is therefore nec-

essary to note how the password has to be entered.

If the user has forgotten the password used, CELSIUS

can be closed only via the taskmanager (key combina-

tion CTL+ALT+DEL). Warning: data loss possible.
To protect the MEMMERT equipment against readjust-

ment of the parameters, the equipment can also be

locked through the optional User-ID card. The use of

the USER-ID card is documented in the internal proto-

col memory of the controller. On reading the protocol

memory the ID number of the particular reported user is

documented in the protocol data.

10. Settings and Options

10.1 Working directories

Tempering profile and protocol files are saved in a predetermined directory if no other path is

specified when they are saved (see pages 36 and 39 ). With "Settings"

→"Open CELSIUS Work-

ing Directory" you can open this directory in Explorer.
For shared CELSIUS files, there is also a preset directory avaiable to all users. This can be run

in Explorer with "Settings"

→"Open Common CELSIUS Directory". Ring protocol files (*.bin) are

stored in the subdirectory "FlashProtocols".

10.2 Auto-Update Ring Protocol

Via the menu item "Settings"

→"Auto-Update Ring Protocol", CELSIUS can reload all online ring

protocols at specified intervals, so that any data that has arrived in the meantime is immedi-

ately displayed. This function should only be enabled if there is little activity in CELSIUS or in

the operating system in general, since it could overload system resources. If the data are not

constantly required, for example to observe an experiment, this function should be disabled.
