Installation Guidelines
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE TO30000 WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
BE INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL PLUMBER.
The following are guidelines for installing the TO30000 to the main water supply line for the whole house with
the use of the bypass valve kit. Please refer to the Installation Overview on page 3. Reference numbers in
instructions are to the drawing item numbers.
NOTE: The two units should be installed in parallel so that the water flows through both units simultaneously.
A. Prepare the two TO30000 housings for installation (part I):
1.
Open the two housings, using the handtool if necessary.
2.
Remove the housing bottom and filter from the lids.
B. Prepare the TEE CONNECTION:
1.
Assemble the TEE CONNECTION that goes between the two housings by attaching one 3/4 x 3/4 Male
Nipple (#2) to each port on the 3/4 x 3/4 x 3/4 Female TEE (#3). Turn each nipple until snug.
2.
Screw the assembled TEE connection onto one housing lid by inserting one of the side nipples into the
INLET port of the housing lid.
3.
Then connect the second housing lid to the TEE connection assembly by screwing the INLET port of that housing lid
onto the second side nipple.
4.
Attached the 3/4M x 3/4F Elbow (#5) to the OUTLET ports on both lids. Turn
until snug, but be sure the elbow port is in an upright position.
5.
Connect a 3/4 x 3/4 Male Nipple (#2) to each OUTLET elbow. Turn until tight.
6.
Attach the brackets (#4) to each housing lid.
7.
Then mount the brackets (with lids attached) to a wall or post as close to the
Bypass Valve as possible (see D below). NOTE: Allow at least a 4" clear-
ance at the bottom for changing the filters (cartridges).
C. Prepare the Bypass Valve (#1) for installation:
1.
Attach one 3/4 x 3/4 Male Nipple (#2) to each port on the Bypass Valve (a total of 4 nipples). Turn
until tight.
D. Prepare the house plumbing for installation
(parts supplied by plumber - see Installation
Overview on page 3)
:
1.
Locate the main water supply line that supplies all water going into the house.
2.
Shut off water to the house. Close all faucets in the house to avoid backflow of the water.
3.
Disconnect or sever the water line (if a pressure regulator is installed, make the connection after the regulator.)
4.
Install the necessary plumbing to enable you to connect the Bypass Valve (#1) to the water supply line and to the
two TO30000 units.
5.
Install a hose bibb faucet (for flushing) and shut-off valve between the outflowing port of the bypass valve and the
house water supply line. This will make flushing the unit during installation and filter changes more convenient.
6.
Attach the outflowing water line to the 3/4" OUTFLOWING port of the Bypass Valve.
7.
Attach the inflowing water line to the 3/4" INFLOWING port of the Bypass Valve.
8.
Attach an inflowing connector line from the Bypass Valve INFLOWING port (marked “TO FILTER” to the TEE
ASSEMBLY (see B above) previously connected to the TO30000 units INLET ports.
9.
Connect a tee (not included with unit) to the OUTFLOWING port (marked “FROM FILTER”) of the Bypass Valve.
10. Attach connectors from each TO30000 OUTLET port to the tee (see D9 above) previously attached to the Bypass
Valve OUTFLOWING port.
