Punching

1

Lift the punch lever to the upright position. Insert the

document into the punch throat, maximum 20 sheets
at a time. Jog the sheets until they are flush with the
rear and left hand paper stop (fig.2).

Important: The slide on the wire closing system
(6) must be completely pushed in for punching.

2

Hold the document in position and press the lever

downwards as far as it will go. Return the lever to its
original position and remove the punched document.
Repeat the process until the entire document is
punched (fig.3).

Custom Binding: WireBind Karo 40 has 40
de-selectable punching pins which make it possible
to punch virtually any length document. Simply select
or deselect the pins to adjust the punching pattern as
required (fig.4).

Important: If punching PVC covers, insert no
more than two covers at a time as this material,
in large quantities, could cause jams or excessive
wear. It is recommended to punch 2 PVC covers
along with 1 sheet of normal paper. This will allow
better punching holes quality.

Binding

1

Select and set the binder size: Push the
document into the measuring guide and read off the
required binder size on the scale (fig.5).

2

Set the wire closing system on the right hand side of
the machine to the colour of the binder size indicated
on the scale. For optimum results, the number must
be completely visible (fig.6).

3

Inserting the wire: Load the wire into the wire
holder (fig 7) Then carefully load the punched
document onto the wire. (fig 8) Place the last sheet
of the document onto the first sheet so that when
the document is bound the join in the wire will be
concealed between the last and second-last sheets.

4

Closing the wire: Guide the document, with the
open part of the wire backwards, as far as it will go
into the wire closing channel. Slowly press the lever
downwards and then return it to its original vertical
position. Remove the document and turn over the last
page (fig.8).

• Take care that your fingers do not get caught

in the binding channel during the binding

process (danger of crushing fingers)

Maintenance

drawer.
