PRO CE DURE
FREE AVAILABLE CHLORINE
1.
Rinse test tube with sample water. Fill to 10 mL line with sample
water.
2. Add one *Chlorine DPD #1 Instrument Grade Tablet (6903A). Wait
until tablet disintegrates. Cap and mix.
3. Remove cap. Immediately insert test tube into Bromine/Chlorine
Comparator (2085). Match sample color to a color standard. Record
as ppm Free Available Chlorine.
4. If the color is darker than the 3.0 ppm chlorine color standard, add a
second *Chlorine DPD #1 Instrument Grade Tablet to test tube.
Wait until tablet disintegrates. Cap and mix. Remove cap. Match
sample color to a color standard. Record as ppm Free Available
Chlorine.
BROMINE
1.
Rinse test tube with sample water. Fill to 10 mL line with sample
water.
2. Add one *Chlorine DPD #1 Instrument Grade Tablet (6903A). Wait
until tablet disintegrates. Cap and mix.
3. Remove cap. Immediately insert test tube into Bromine/Chlorine
Comparator (2085). Match sample color to a color standard. Record
as ppm Bromine.
pH
1.
Rinse test tube with sample water. Fill to 10 mL line with sample
water.
2. Add one Phenol Red Tablet (6915A). Cap and mix until tablet
disintegrates.
3. Insert test tube into the Phenol Red Comparator (2185). Match
sample color to a color standard. Record as pH.
