PRO CE DURE 4:
BRO MINE & IO DINE
Bromine and iodine may be determined by following the free available
chlorine test procedure and multiplying the comparator reading by the factors
given below.
1.
Follow Steps 1 through 5 under Procedure 1.
2. To determine parts per million Bromine, multiply the comparator
reading from Step 1 by 2.2.
ppm Free Available Chlorine x 2.2 = ppm Bromine
3. To determine parts per million Iodine, multiply the comparator
reading from Step 1 by 3.5.
ppm Free Available Chlorine x 3.5 = ppm Iodine
PRO CE DURE 5:
pH
1.
Rinse the test tube (0898) with sample water. Fill to the top line with
sample water.
2. Add one Phenol Red Tablet (6915). Crush tablet with tablet crusher
(0175). Cap and mix until tablet disintegrates.
3. Immediately insert tube into Phenol Red Comparator (2185). Match
sample color to a color standard. Record as pH.
