TESTING THE pH OF HOUSE HOLD PROD UCTS
Many substances commonly found around the home or school can be
tested for pH using the previously described procedures. Colorless or
slightly colored liquids, such as ammonia, bleach, or vinegar, can be tested
using the Testing the pH of Water procedure. Colored liquids may require
filtration or a dilution with distilled water before the pH can be tested.
Solid substances, such as bread, fruit and vegetables should be ground up,
and the Testing the pH of Soil procedure followed.
