SAFETY

SAFETY RULES
1.
The heating plate may reach temperatures of up to 150°C. The green LED will

be lit while the instrument is heating. The instrument will remain hot for a
period of time after use. Allow adequate time for the instrument to cool before
handling.

2. Containers, tubes and materials used with the COD Heater Block must be

compatible with the temperature ranges of this instrument.

3. The COD block heater is equipped with a temperature sensitive safety switch to

prevent damage to the instrument by overheating. The instrument will
automatically shut off when the temperature exceeds 180°C. The Pt100
temperature probe continuously monitors the temperature. If an abnormal
reading is detected, the heating element will immediately shut off, the
temperature and time LEDs will blink and the block heater will beep to signal a
problem with the work cycle.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT
Use protective safety equipment appropriate for the temperature settings and
materials.
