Initial Settings
Initial Settings
By using the Setup menu, you can make various
adjustments to items such as picture and sound.
You can also set a language for the subtitles and
the Setup menu, among otherthings. For details
on each Setup menu item, see pages 40 to 43.
To display and exit the Menu:
Press SETUP to display the menu. Asecond press
of SETUP or RETURN will take you back to initial
screen.
Basic Operation
1. Press SETUP. The Setup menu appears.
2. Use ♦/■►to select the desired option then press ♦
to move to the second level. The screen shows
the current setting for the selected item, as well
as alternate settlng(s).
3. Use to select the second desired option then
press ■► to move to the third level or press ♦ to
move to the first level.
4. Use ♦/+ to select the desired setting then press
ENTER to confirm your selection. Some items
require additional steps.
5. Press SETUP, RETURN or select the exit setup
option to exit the Setup menu.
GENERAL SETUP
TV Display
Select a picture size according to the aspect ratio
of your TV. The displayable picture depends on
each DVD Video. Therefore, the playback picture
of some DVD videos may not conform to the picture
size you select.
4:3 PS (Pan scan):
Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected.
Automatically display the wide picture on the
entire screen and cut off the portions that do
not fit.
4:3 LB (Letter Box):
Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected.
Display a wide picture with bands on the upper
and lower portions of the screen.
16:9 (Wide):
Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected.
