TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART

TROUBLE

CAUSE

REMEDY

Engine will not start

1. Ignition switch off.

2. Fuel tank empty.

a Spark plug not firing,
4. Fuel not reaching carburetor.

5. Engine flooded.

Compression low.

1. Move switch to “Start”.

2. Fill tank with correct fuel mixture,

4. Check for dirty fuel filter; clean. Check

for kinted or split fuel line; repair or

replace.

Engine will not idle

properly

1. Idling speed set too low.

2. Idle speed set too high.

clockwise to reduce speed,

1. Carburetor requires adjustment.

Engine smokes

excessively

1. High speed needle requires adjustment.
