Use AE lock when the area of focus is to be different from the exposure
metering area or when you want to take muitipie shots at the same

exposure setting. Press the <■)(■> button to iock the exposure, then

recompose and take the shot. This is cailed AE iock. It is effective for
backiit subjects.

Focus the subject.

• Press the shutter button halfway.

► The exposure setting wiii be displayed.

► The <■)(■> icon wiii iight in the

viewfinder and the exposure setting

wiii be iocked (AE lock).

• Each time you press the <-X-> button,

it iocks the current auto exposure
setting.

Recompose and take the picture.

• The exposure ievei indicator on the

right of the viewfinder wiii show the

AE lock exposure level and the
current exposure level in real-time.

• If you want to maintain the AE lock

while taking more shots, hold down

the < •)(■ > button and press the shutter
button to take another shot.
