2. Mounting the Flash and

Taking Pictures

1) Insert the flash onto the accessory shoe. For

proper electrical contact, make sure it is

pushed in completely.

2) Slide the lock switch in the direction of the

arrow.

• Always remove the flash by grasping the

unit from the bottom after sliding the lock

switch in the opposite direction.

3) Turn the main switch on “I” and wait until

the ready lamp lights up. Q

4) Compose the picture and press the shutter

button to take the picture.

• When the ready lamp does not light up ap­

prox. 30 s. after the main switch is turned

on “I”, replace ail four batteries at the
same time with the same brand.

• For flash pictures, do not press the shutter

button completely until the ready lamp of the

flash lights up.

• In low light conditions, the built-in AF aux­

iliary light is emitted when the shutter but­

ton is pressed halfway.

• The flash covers an angle equivalent to a 35

mm lens. For a focal length of 28 mm, at­

tach the wide adapter (optionally available)

to the flash head.

• Do not attempt to disassemble the flash

yourself. Always take it to an authorized

Canon Service Facility for repair.

• The flash is not resistant to water, and

should not be used outdoors if snowing.

Keep the flash out of salt spray and exces­

sive humidity. If used at the beach, clean it

thoroughly afterward with a dry cloth.

USE THE 200E ONLY WITH EOS

CAMERAS.
