Determine a convenient location to install the quick disconnect, and cut the 8ga
wire. Strip about ½” of insulation from each end (3/4" if soldering). Slide on the
adapter sleeve. Be careful to keep all strands inside the sleeve.

Slide the contact over the sleeve as shown.

Crimp the contact securely. Pull on the contact to assure a tight crimp. If soldering,
make sure solder flows into the sleeve and contact, as well as up the ¼” of exposed
wire.

Slide the contact into the housing as shown, with the notch down. This will engage the
metal retaining tab and secure the contact. The “bump” should be up as in the photo.

Repeat for other end of the wire and slide the 2 connectors together

To remove a contact from its housing, use a small flat blade screwdriver to press down on either
side of metal retaining tab under the contact. This will allow the wire and contact to be pulled out of
the housing.
