DIMMs on the Memory Boards are divided into two groups: A and B.


DIMMs in Group A must be the same or larger capacity than the DIMMs in
Group B.





Caution: System parts are sensitive to electrostatic discharge and can be

damaged by the static charge you may carry. You should wear a
grounded wrist strap.


Group B can have the same number of DIMMs as Group A or it can have zero
DIMMs.

DIMM Upgrades

Dataram offers three DIMM-only upgrades. The DRSM5000D/16GB is a
16GB product consisting of eight 2GB DDR2 DIMMs. The
DRSM5000D/32GB is a 32GB product consisting of eight 4GB DDR2 DIMMs,
and the DRSM5000D/64GB is a 64GB product consisting of eight 8GB DDR2
DIMMs. All products can be used to increase the memory capacity of existing
Sun Memory Boards in M4000 and M5000 servers.

In an M4000 server, valid configurations are two or four Memory Boards and
the DIMMs in each Group should be the identical capacity across ALL of the
Memory Boards.

In an M5000 server, valid configurations are two, four or eight Memory
Boards. The Memory Boards are broken into two Units. The first Unit consists
of the first two to four Memory Boards and the second Unit consists of the last
five to eight Memory Boards. The DIMMs in each Group should be the
identical capacity across all the Memory Boards in a Unit.

Dataram offers three Memory Board upgrades. The DRSM5000/16GB is a
16GB product consisting of a Memory Board populated with eight 2GB DDR2
DIMMs. The DRSM5000/32GB is a 32GB product consisting of a Memory
Board populated with eight 4GB DDR2 DIMMs. The DRSM5000/64GB is a
64GB product consisting of a memory board populated with eight 8GB DDR2
DIMMs. All products can be used to add additional memory capacity to the
M4000 and M5000 servers.
