Section VI: Glazing Preparation
Step #3 Seal Slip-In Horizontal Joints
A.) At slip-in horizontals, install backer rods and completely seal over the notch in the
horizontal framing members as indicated. Apply sealant a minimum of 2” in each
direction from the intersecting members.

Elevation of joinery, at slip on
horizontal, prior to setting the infill.
Edge of Infill
Provide a downward slope with
sealant for drainage, without
interfering with the edge of the
glazing infill. [Erector to perform
compatibility and adhesion tests.]
Apply sealant to the face of
the joint plug prior to
installing the pressure plate.
Elevation of joinery at stacking
horizontals, prior to setting the infill.
