Unlocking/locking in an emergency
Fuel filler flap
̈ Open the tailgate ( ୴ page 122).
The fuel filler flap release is located behind
a cover in the right side trim panel of the
cargo compartment.
1 Lock
2 Cover
̈ Insert a suitable object such as a coin
into the slot of lock

̈ Turn lock 1 counterclockwise by 90°
in direction of arrow.
̈ Remove cover 2.
3 Fuel filler flap release
̈ Pull red fuel filler flap release 3 in di-
rection of arrow.
The fuel filler flap is unlocked.
̈ Open the fuel filler flap ( ୴ page 342).

The fuel filler flap release may differ,
depending on production date. If your
vehicle is not equipped with the fuel
filler flap release as illustrated, pulling a
red fabric cord instead unlocks the fuel
filler flap.
