OPERATION

WARNING:

Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you care-

less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is
sufficient to inflict serious injury.

WARNING:

Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.

WARNING:

Do not use any attachments or accessories not recom-

mended by the manufacturer of this tool. The use of at-

tachments or accessories not recommended can result
in serious personal injury.

APPLICATIONS

You may use this tool for the following purpose:

Driving nuts and bolts using an impact socket

This product will accept Ryobi One+ 18 V lithium-ion
battery packs and Ryobi One+ 18 V nickel-cadmium battery
packs.
For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator’s
Manual for your Ryobi One+ battery pack and charger
models.

BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES

Ryobi lithium-ion batteries are designed with features that
protect the lithium-ion cells and maximize battery life.
If the tool stops during use, release the trigger to reset and
resume operation. If the tool still does not work, the battery
needs to be recharged.

TO INSTALL / REMOVE BATTERY PACK

See Figure 2, page 9.
To install battery pack:

Lock switch trigger on the tool by placing the direction

of rotation selector in center position.

Place battery pack in the tool. Align raised rib inside tool

with groove on battery pack.

Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack

snap into place and battery pack is secured in tool before
beginning operation.

WARNING:

Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are
assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when
not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious personal injury.

To remove battery pack:

Lock switch trigger on the tool by placing the direction

of rotation selector in center position.

Locate latches on end of battery pack and depress to

release battery pack from the tool.

Remove battery pack from the tool.

WARNING:

Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore,
switch should always be locked when not in use or car-
rying at your side.

CAUTION:

The metal surface may become hot during use. Avoid
contact with it to avoid possible burn injury.

SWITCH TRIGGER

See Figure 3, page 9.
To turn the tool

ON, depress the switch trigger. To turn it

OFF, release the switch trigger.
Setting the switch trigger in the

OFF (center lock) position

helps reduce the possibility of accidental starting when not
in use.

REVERSIBLE

See Figure 3, page 9.
The direction of rotation is reversible and is controlled by
a selector located above the switch trigger. With the tool
held in normal operating position, the direction of rotation
selector should be positioned to the left of the switch for
tightening. The direction is reversed when the selector is to
the right of the switch.

VARIABLE SPEED

See Figure 3, page 9.
This tool has a variable speed switch that delivers higher
speed with increased trigger pressure. Speed is controlled
by the amount of switch trigger depression.
To stop, release switch trigger and allow the anvil to come
to a complete stop.

NOTICE:

To prevent gear damage, always allow anvil to come to a
complete stop before changing the direction of rotation.
