Intended Use:

A digital thermometer is a device used to measure the body temperature of animals by means of a trans-

ducer coupled with an electric signal amplification, conditioning, and display unit.

Safety Information:

• Read the enclosed instructions carefully to ensure accurate temperature readings.

• WARNING: Keep battery out of children’s & animal’s reach. Swallowing battery could be harmful.

Battery should not be recharged or placed into extreme heat as it may explode.

• CAUTION: Probe covers are required to avoid contamination.

• CAUTION: Do not boil, bite, bend, drop, or disassemble this thermometer.

• CAUTION: Do not autoclave. Please note the cleaning procedures described in this manual.

• CAUTION: Do not dispose of this thermometer and its battery in fire. Please recycle the used bat-

tery.

• CAUTION: Avoid taking temperature for 30 minutes after physical exercise, bathing, or eating.

• CAUTION: Always keep this thermometer away from direct sunlight, moisture, extreme tempera-

tures, and dirt while in use, storage, or transport.

• CAUTION: When the ambient temperature is greater than 95°F or 35°C, immerse the probe tip

into cold water for 5-10 seconds before normal use.

How to take temperature:

1. Place a probe cover carefully over the tip (Figure 1). The use

of a probe cover is recommended to help avoid spreading

germs, and to keep the thermometer clean. The thermometer

should be cleaned after use even when probe covers are used.

2. Press down the Multi-Function button to start the ther-

mometer. Then, a full display

( ) ensures that the LCD window is operating correctly.

3. The symbol will appear, indicating normal operation after internal safe testing. If the unit is not

functioning correctly will appear indicating a malfunction.

4. The ambient temperature or ( ) will display on the window with °F or °C blinking. The

thermometer is now ready for use. If there is no temperature taken in the following 3 minutes, the

thermometer will automaticallyshut-off.

5. Put the probe tip in the rectum according to the method provided.(See Method of Use).

6. When the reading is complete, °F or °C stops blinking and the measured temperature displays on

the LCD window with one series of beeps.

7. The thermometer prolongs its measurement process in the next 1 minute.

After that, the measured temperature is fixed and shown on the LCD window until auto shut-off in 9

minutes.

8. When the measured temperature is above or below the measuring range, the LCD window

displays ( ) or ( ).

Method of use:

Rectal Measurement (Approx. 10-15 seconds). Lubricate the probe tip with vaseline for easier inser-

tion. Then, softly push the probe tip into the rectum approximately 1” (2 to 3 cm) in depth. Stop if you

encounter resistance.
