Position the AN-S8 in a suitable location; close your turntable and phonostage input.
It is important to remember that the Step Up Transformers inside the AN-S8 are
highly susceptible to noise created by power supplies, mains cables etc. If you
experience any ‘hum’ problems, move the AN-S8 to a different location, further away
from possible causes of noise, and try changing it’s orientation, rotating it clockwise /
anticlockwise until any noise is eliminated / reduced to an acceptable level.

Once located, connect the AN-S8 between your turntable and phonostage input.
Connect your tonearm / turntable output cables to the

on the AN-S8,

and the

sockets

of the AN-S8 to your MM phonostage input. It is important to

use good quality, shielded interconnects for all turntable connections; this will help to
minimize any noise or hum problems.

We can also supply the AN-S8 equipped with a pair of our ultra-low
capacitance White PALLAS interconnect cables installed at the output, instead
of the standard RCA / Phono sockets. These cables are connected directly to
the outputs of the SUT secondaries, providing the best possible connection
between the AN-S8 and the following phonostage.

If your tonearm has a separate earth lead, connect this to the dedicated

earth /

grounding post

located on the rear of the AN-S8. It may also be worthwhile

connecting this earth / ground post to the earth / ground post of your pre-amplifier /
phonostage / amplifier (if one is available). This will often further reduce low level
noise or ‘hum’, however this is not always guaranteed, so some experimentation is
advised to ascertain the best arrangement.

Once all connections have been made, you are now ready to enjoy some music!
