OPERATING THE VS2000XR

AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK AND FLASHING LIGHTS

Your VS2Û00XR offers the convenience of automatically locking and unlocking your

car’s doors and flashing the lights when the car is armed and disarmed. This may require
the addition of certain optional accessories, and you should discuss with your

professional UNIDEN dealer about whether or not you wish to have them installed with

your alarm.

This manual assumes you are using the power door lock control and flashing light

features of your VS2000XR. If you decide not to use these features, just disregard any
references to them.

ARMING THE VS2000XR
If active arming is selected, the alarm will arm instantly after pressing the transmitter's
button #1. A 'CHIRP' will be heard, the parking lights will flash once and the car doors

will lock to signify that the alarm is armed.

If passive arming is selected, the alarm will automatically arm itself and lock the car
doors 15 seconds after all doors are dosed. A 'CHIRP" will be heard and the parking
lights will flash once after the last door is closed, to confirm that alarm is arming. During
the delay period of 15 seconds, you can temporarily stop the arming of VS2C00XR simply

by opening a door. This lets you re-enter the car without having to first disarm the alarm.

When finished, close the door and the alarm will recommence arming.

In either case, if you do not hear a chirp or see the flashing of the parking lights, the alarm
is informing you that a door has not been closed properly and therefore the alarm won't

arm. This remarkable patented fail-safe feature stops you from walking away thinking
your car is protected when it is not. {Your UNIDEN professional installer can turn this

■CHIRP'off, if you desire.)

DISARMING THE VS2000XR
If passive arming is selected, first press the transmitter's button #1 (the alarm will chirp j

twice, parking lights will flash twice and the car doors will unlock). Then, open a door ^

within 15 seconds (If a door is not opened within 15 seconds, the alarm will rearm itself).

Finally, turn ON the ignition key to stop rearming . This VS2000XR's patented 3-step

disarming process prevents accidental disarming.

if active arming is used, you can choose Auto rearm or Permanent disarm mode,
in auto rearm mode, the alarm will rearm itself unless a door is opened within 15
seconds after pressing the transmitter's button #1. In Permanent disarm mode, pressing
the transmitter’s button #1 will disarm the alarm permanently. In either mode, two chirps
will be heard, two flashing parking lights will be seen and the car doors will unlock after

pressing the transmitter's button #1.

CAR LOCATOR AND TAMPER INDICATOR WHILE DISARM

Two long flashes show the car's location when the alarm is disarmed by the transmitter.

The VS2000XR will nohfy the owner of any prior attempt to break into the car.

If the alarm has been triggered, the lights will flash seven times [instead of twice) when

the transmitter is used to disarm the|alarm. Switching on the ignition will reset the memory.

EMERGENCY CALL FOR HELP (PANIC MODE)

You can sound the siren by turning off the ignition key and holding down transmitter

button #l for three seconds. The siren will begin to sound, chasing away would-be

attackers and alerting neighbors. However, the range of the transmitter may vary; see
Trouble Shooting section, item 2,
