1.

Make su re that the power i s disconnected from the fan.

2.

Remove fan hood by releas ing the hood retaining clips.

3.

Disconnect the motor wire harness by unsnapping the quick release
connection.

4.

Remove all ¼-20 nylon inserted nuts and nylon was hers from t he
baffle, see det ai l A.

5.

Remove all of t he ¼-20 x 1” sheet metal screws t hat secure the apron
to th e baffle.

6.

Loosen all the ¼-20 pan head bolt located under the horizontal brace,
see detail A.

7.

The vertical b race should now be loose. Push the verti cal brace st ud s
int o the baffle using a screw d river. Follo w t his method until all the
studs have been pushed i nto the baffle area, see det ail A.

8.

You will be abl e to remove t he main assem bly from t he baffle by
pull ing up on the apron, see main assemb ly view.

9.

You must remove t he wheel before gai ni ng access to t he hard ware
that holds t he mot or i n place.

10.

Loosen the hardware that hold s the wheel i n place. Loos en the nuts
and then t he set screws. Lock t ight has been used to help secure this
hardware so they might b e ti ght .

11.

The m otor shaft has been designed wit h two flat areas. This allows
the set screws t o secure the motor, and als o p revent the m otor s haft
from gett ing stuck duri ng removal from t he fan.

12.

Now that the wheel has been removed you will be able to remove the
hardware that holds the motor in pl ace.

13.

Wh en mount ing the new motor it is very imp ortant t o attach the 10/ 32
nuts t o the face of t he mot or, t his creates a gap between the surface of
the motor plate and the face of the motor.

14.

Mount t he mot or, align m otor studs with mot or plate mountin g hole
and secure with 10/ 32 nu ts on the under side of m otor mounting plate.

15.

Reattach the wheel, the face of the hub should be flush wit h the end
of the shaft. Make sure that the s et s crews are over the flat s on the
mot or shaft and l ock ti gh t is used before ti ghteni ng the set screws.
Remember to t ighten the nut s as t his will s top the set screws from
backin g out .

16.

Make su re that the wheel s pins freel y and is centered over the inlet.

17.

Insert th e main assem bly back in t o t he baffle making sure t o ali gn
the verti cal braces st uds wi th the mountin g hol es. Reach i nside t he
unit and pull the vert ical brace studs through the baffle h oles, secure
with nylon washers and ¼-20 nyl on insert ed nuts . Follow thi s method
unti l al l vertical braces are secure, s ee detail A.

18.

Tighten all the ¼-20 pan head bolt located under the hori zontal brace,
see detail A.

19.

Reuse all of t he ¼-20 x 1” sh eet metal screws th at secure the apron to
the baffle.

20.

Make su re that the wheel s pins freel y and is centered over the inlet.

21.

Recon nect the motor wi re harness by snapping the quick release
connections t ogether.

22.

Fan hood should b e put on th e unit, make sure the hood retaining
clips are snapped shut .

23.

Recon nect the power and t est run unit.
