The automatic recording level control ensures that all
sounds are recorded at the correct level.
• When monitoring during recording, adjust the sound
with the controls VOLUME ® and GRAPHIC EQUAL­

IZER ®. These controls do not affect the recording.
During microphone recordings, monitoring is not pos­

sible (set the VOLUME control ® to zero).
• For brief interruptions, press PAUSE li. To restart

recording, press this button once more.

• To stop recording, press STOP ■. On pressing again,
the cassette holder will open.

The set is switched off if MODE selector ® is in

position TAPE/OFF and the recorder buttons are not
pressed.

DUBBING - Copying from deck A to deck B

- When copying, it recommended to use fresh batteries

or to connect the set to the mains.

- During dubbing the deck A button A& should not be

pressed.

• Set MODE selector ® to TAPE.

Press both EJECT buttons ■ and insert a recorded

cassette into deck A and a cassette which is suited for

recording into deck B (fig. 4).
For recording,

always use NORMAL or FERRO cas­

settes (ferric oxide, lEC type I).
• Set the DUBBING SPEED selector ® to:
NORMAL for normal speed dubbing;
HIGH for high speed dubbing.

Note:

Do not switch this selector during

dubbing.

• Dubbing will start by pressing at the same time the

buttons PLAY ► on deck A and RECORD • on deck B.

To omit undesired passages, press PAUSE il on

deck B; deck A will continue the playback. To restart
copying, press PAUSE II once more.
• Using the PAUSE button II of deck A, deck B will
record a blank part
• To stop dubbing, press both STOP buttons ■. The set
Is then switched off.

CASSETTE PLAYBACK

Cassette playback on deck A or B

• Set MODE selector ® to

TAPE.

• Press EJECT ■ and insert a recorded cassette
(fig. 4).
• Set the DUBBING SPEED selector ® to

NORMAL.

• Press PLAY ► and playback will start
• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME ® and

GRAPHIC EQUALIZER ®.

During playback, the tápe in the other deck should

not be fast forward wound or rewound, otherwise the

actual cassette playback is affected.
• To stop playback, press STOP ■. The set is then
switched off.

Press the deck A button A& (in doing so, PLAY ► is

pressed too) and the deck B button PLAY ►; deck A will
now play and deck B stands still.

Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME @ and

GRAPHIC EQUALIZER ®.

As soon as deck A stops (at the end of the cassette

or when its STOP button ■ is pressed), deck B wrill start
playing back.
• \№en deck A is started again by pressing A&, deck B

wll come to a standstill and deck A will be reproduced

again^

During playback, the tape in the other deck should

not be fast forward wound or rewound, otheivrise the

actual cassette playback is affected.

To stop playback, press STOP ■. The set is then

switched off.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance

Clean the parts indicated in fig. 6 after every 50 hours

of operation or, on average, once a month.
- Open the cassette holder by pressing EJECT ■.
- Use a cotton bud slightly moistened with alcohol or a

special head cleaning fluid.

- Press PLAY ► and clean the rubber pressure roller ®

(fig-6).

- Then press PAUSE ii and clean the capstan ©,

recording/playback head ® and erase head ®.

- After cleaning, press STOP ■.
Cleaning of the heads @ and ® can also be done by

playing the cleaning cassette SBC 114 through once as

an ordinary cassette.

The recorder-mechanisms are fitted vrith self-lubrica­

ting bearings and therefore must not be oiled or greased.

Do not expose the set, batteries or cassettes to rain

or moisture, or, for any great length of time, to excessive
heat from heating equipment or direct sunshine, e.g. in
motor cars parked in the sun.

Keep the set and the cassettes away from sand and

do not store the cassettes too close to magnets,
loudspeakers or transformers.

Fingerprints, dust and dirt on the apparatus can be

removed using a soft and clean, slightly damp leather
cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents vrhich contain
abrasives or solvents such as benzine thinner, alcohol,
refined petrol or ammonia, since they may affect and
harm the cabinet

• Set MODE selector ® to TAPE.
• Press both EJECT buttons ■ and insert a recorded
cassette into both decks (fig. 4).
