RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

• This cassette player is provided with two rechargeable

Nickel-Cadmium batteries, type R6, UM3 or AA.
• Charge the batteries prior to first use and also if the

player has not been used for a long period.

• After 8 hours of charging, the batteries will be fully
charged and will last about 4 hours in the PLAY mode. As
soon as the POWER ON indicator goes out in the PLAY

mode, the batteries should be recharged.

• If fully charged batteries run down relatively quickly, they

may be worn out and be due for replacement (normally

after charging approx. 500 times).

Do not replace the

batteries yourself, but consult your dealer.

• After fast winding «or ^.always press STOP button ■

in order to prevent the batteries from being discharged
completely, which would affect their charging capacity and
lifetime.

CHARGING THE BATTERIES

For charging, only use the enclosed mains adapter

supplying 3 V DC, minuspole ’ - ’ to the centre pin. Serious
damage may occur if another adapter is used.
• Before charging, check that the mains voltage of the

mains adapter corresponds to your local mains supply. If
not, consult your dealer or service organisation. If the
mains adapter is equipped with a voltage selector, set this

selector to the local mains voltage.
• To start charging, insert the DC plug of the mains

adapter into the DC 3 V socket of the cassette player and
connect the mains adapter to the wall socket. Charge the
batteries at room temperature.
• Full charging will take about 8 hours. Charging longer will

not harm the batteries. During charging, the cassette
player may be operated normally.

• After charging, always remove the DC plug from the DC
3 V socket and the mains adapter from the wall socket.

PLAYING BACK CASSETTES

• Connect headphones to the PHONES 0 socket.

• Open the cassette cover and insert the cassette with the

open part facing upwards and the full reel on the right.

• To start playback, press PLAY <
• Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control and the tone

with the GRAPHIC EQUALIZER controls.

• To stop playback, press STOP ■.
• At the end of the tape the PLAY

button is automatically

released and the set is switched off.

FAST FORWARD WIND AND REWIND

Press REWIND ►► or F.FWD «forfast forward wind. Press

STOP ■ to stop fast winding and also when the tape has

reached its end.

MAINTENANCE

Clean the magnetic head after every 50 hours of

operation or, on average, once a month by playing through
the cleaning cassette SBC 114.
• Do not expose the set and the cassettes for any great

length of time to excessive heat from heating equipment or
direct sunshine, e.g. in motor cars parked in the sun.

This set complies with the radio interference requirements as iaid

down in European Community regulations.

The type number indica tion will be found at the back of the set and

the serial number Inside the cassette cover.
