5 Headland Mode Combined with Spray Signal (DAH09

only)

If this system is using the DAH09 interface and the Norac 44658-78 interface cable a feature is
available to automatically raise and lower the boom on headland turns as the spray is switched
on and off. Two styles of control are available- one which will raise the entire boom (AutoSlant
or AutoHeight), or another mode which will raise only the wings (AutoHeight only).

To enable this feature a jumper wire must be added to carry the signal from the HARDI job
computer to the DAH09 board. A piece of insulated wire 20cm long can be used to make this
connection.

1. Locate and open the job computer enclosure. This is located on at the front of the solution

tank (Commander), on the right side of the sprayer (Navigator), or on the left side of the
sprayer (Alpha) as shown in Figure 2.

2. Connect the wire between the “Fluid Bypass +” terminal of the DAH09 PCB connector J9

to the job computer PCB connection labeled “ON/OFF +”. Both connectors use a spring
loaded terminal which can be opened using a small flat screwdriver. Close the enclosure.

3. The feature must now be enabled in the UC4.5 control panel. To enable this option

navigate to the Remote switches screen and select either HM1 (AutoSlant and AutoHeight)
or HW1 mode (AutoHeight only). To navigate to the Remote switches menu:
a. Switch the system on, and press

until “More?” appears. Press

.

b. Then press

until “Other?” appears and press

. Now the Remote switches menu

is displayed.

4. With this feature enabled the system will go into Auto mode when the spray is switched on,

and when the spray is switched off the boom will raise to headland height. Similar Headland
modes are available which are triggered by tapping from the paralift up/paralift down switch.
This is the HM2 mode which lifts the entire boom (AutoHeight or AutoSlant) or HW2
mode which lifts only the wings boom (AutoHeight only). The HM1/HW1 modes are not
recommended for this type of install. For more information on the different types of
headland mode please see the Operators Manual.
