6) Slide the rudder back into position and attach control arm.

Add the screw-locking compound to the 3/32" set screw
and tighten. See Figure 5.

Section 2: To repair stripped brass insert for
cable collet

1)

Loosen the 3/32" set screw in rudder control arm. Slide
Rudder down and remove from rudder mount. See
Figure 1.

Note: Keep nylon bushings in a small container
to avoid misplacing them.

2)

Loosen the two 5/64" set screws on the brass flex cable
collar. Pull the propeller shaft assembly out to the rear of
the boat. See Figure 2.

3) Pull the flex cable out of the stuffing box just enough to

allow room inside the hull to replace the brass insert.
See Figure 6.

4) Use a 9/16" wrench to remove the outer retaining nut from

the cable collet. Remove the stripped brass insert and
install the new one provided. Reinstall the retaining nut.
See Figure 7.

5)

Slide the flex cable back into the cable collet as far as it will
go without excessive binding. You may have to loosen the
motor mount adjustment bolts by using a 4mm Allen wrench
to re-align the cable collet and flex cable. See Figure 8.

6) Slide the propeller assembly back into the rear of the strut

and add the included spacers to the front of the strut to take
up any gap between the strut and the brass flex cable collar.
See Figure 3.

7) Add screw-locking compound to the 5/64" brass flex cable

collar set screws and tighten. See Figure 4.

Note: If both setscrews do not come in contact
with the propeller shaft, you must use the new
shaft included with this addendum.

8) Slide the rudder back into position and attach control arm.

Add the screw-locking compound to the 3/32" set screw
and tighten. See Figure 5.
