RPORT

RS232 Serial Remote Control Interface Module for IP KVM Switches

*actual product may vary from photos

1. If this is the first R-Port compatible device you are installing, connect the data cable (provided) to the R-Port connector on the Server

Remote Control. If you have other devices installed, connect the RPORT to the last device in the chain. (It will have a data port available).

2. Connect the opposite end of the RPORT data cable to one of the connectors on the device. Connect the 9-pin serial connector to the

appropriate port on the device you wish to control. Consult that device’s manual for more information, if necessary.

3. The LED on the top of the RPORT will light when the unit receives power. The unit will become active after a 15 second

initialization period.

4. The R-Port on the Server Remote Control has a status indicator. If the light is red, it indicates that one or more R-Port devices has a power

overload or is experiencing other problems. If this occurs, remove the RPORT from the chain and reconnect it. If the problem persists, see

your Server Remote Control manual for more details.

5. Login to the Server Remote Control as admin. From the Home screen, choose the Admin/Setup link from the navigation bar at the top of

the page. Click the External Serial consoles setup and control link.

6. R-Port devices will be listed, including the unit you just installed. To access the device, ensure the connection speed and other settings on

this menu match the requirements of the device you are controlling (consult the manual for the device for more information). Click the

Connect button beside your device to begin a terminal session.
