Installation Note
Description
1. This Installation Note covers the description and
installation of the tii Series 89 and SVN-12. The tii 89 is
deployed in conjunction with the tii SVN-12 panel. The tii
89 is supplied as an individual module. The SVN-12 can
accommodate up to 12 tii 89 modules. The tii 89 has been
designed to provide automatic switching between Telco to
Digital Voice Services. The tii 89 should only be used for
indoor applications. The tii 89 gets its power from the
Digital Voice Service line and standard telephone line.
IDC rockers are used to terminate 26-22 AWG solid wire.
Test points are provided to enable customer line dial tone
testing. The Line 2 connections are permanent once
properly terminated.

Installation
1. Remove the unit from the bag and inspect it for damage. If
damaged, obtain another unit.
2. Locate a suitable flat, dry area to install the SVN-12 panel.
3. Mount the SVN-12 panel with the hardware supplied.
Refer to Figure 2 for SVN-12 mounting dimensions. If the
SVN-12 panel is already installed, identify the position in
which the tii 89 module is to be installed.
4. Holding the module on an angle as shown in Figure 2,
engage the left side fingers under the catch on the SVN-
12 panel. Slowly lower the module and align the latch with
the panel and engage module to the panel. Confirm that
the module is securely engaged to the panel.
