TROUBLESHOOTING
BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE CHECK THE FOLLOWING CHART.
Problem:
Check these Conditions:

TV turns off
automatically.
• Check signal (Cable/Ant.)
connection,
• Check if sleep timer is ON.
• Power surge protection feature.
• Press POWER key.
• Unplug TV momentarily.
No picture, poor
picture.
• Check antenna connections.
• May be station trouble.
• Possible interference from house
hold appliance.
• Brightness or Contrast misadjusted.
• Adjust antenna.
• Try a different channel.
• Press RESET key.
Poor color or
no color.
• Check if program is in color.
• Check antenna connections.
• May be station trouble.
• Color or Tint misadjusted.
• Try a different channel.
• Adjust antenna.
• Press RESET key.
Black box on
screen.
• Caption Text Mode without display
information.
• Switch off Captions
(see page 13).
Blue Screen
with Video
displayed
• Check Audio/Video connections.
• Check external equipment.
• Press VIDEO MODE key.
• Switch on external equipment.
No sound,
poor sound.
• May be station trouble.
• May be MUTE function.
• Check Audio/Video connections.
• Try a different channel.
• Adjust Volume.
• Select MONO from Audio
on-screen menu.
No TV stereo

• Check if station is broadcasting a
true MTS stereo signal.

• Check if station is broadcasting a
SAP signal.

• Select CABLE from Antenna
on-screen menu; then start CH.

on-screen menu; then start CH.

• Check if station is broadcasting a
Closed-Caption signal.
