Document Feed and Eject Trays

Before scanning, prepare the Document Feed and Eject Trays for the desired paper size.

Preparing the Document Feed Tray

Opening the Document Feed Tray

When the scanner is turned ON, the Document Feed Tray
opens automatically and moves to the specified home
position height.

The height of the home position can be adjusted in three
steps according to the number of document pages to be
loaded at once (up to 500, 300, or 100 sheets). The default
setting is the lowest position, which accepts up to 500
sheets. For details, refer to the User Manual.

Hint

When opening the Document Feed Tray by hand, place your
fingers in the indents at both sides of the tray, and open it gently.

Closing the Document Feed Tray

To close the Document Feed Tray, lift it gently so that the
sides of the tray hook into the scanner body, then press it
in at both sides.

Hint

When power is switched OFF while the home position setting of
the Document Feed Tray is high, the tray moves to the lowest
position before the scanner turns OFF.

CAUTION

When the home position is set to high, make sure to turn the
power OFF before closing the tray. Closing the Document Feed
Tray while the scanner is ON may damage the scanner.
