Instructions:
Install
We will start the install by removing some items to gain clearance to drill into the
firewall of the car. You will need to remove the factory engine cover, wiper arms, as
well as the wiper cowling as you will be required to drill two mounting locations into the
firewall. The wipers will need to be un-bolted, the cowling is held in with the plastic GM
push pins so be careful not to break them when removing as you will be re-using these.
Removal of the front wheels at this time will also make install of the brace mounts much
easier to the strut towers.
Once the items have been removed and you have access to the firewall you will
lay the bar on the car to start the mock up for the first two holes needing to be drilled.
The passenger side of the bar will need to be routed through two of the ABS lines as
shown in figure 1. Once the bar is roughly located onto the car you will make your
marks to drill the two holes for the studs into the firewall. These are 10mm studs, to
make it easier to locate use a 7/16” drill bit for the two studs. You can use the firewall
backing plate as your drill template.
