While reception is in progress...
The second hand will indicate the current • •
reception status.
READY (or R): Unstable reception
WORK (or W): Stable reception
Keep the watch in a location where

reception is stable while a receive
operation is in progress.
Do not move the watch while signal
• •
reception is in progress (second hand
at “WORK”).
Even under optimum reception
• •
conditions, it can take about 10 seconds
for reception to stabilize.
Use the second hand position to check the status of a receive
• •
operation and to determine the best location for signal reception.
Note that weather, the time of day, surroundings, and other factors
• •
all can affect reception.
The hour and minute hands will continue to operate normally
• •
during signal reception.
