GENERAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
LAYING THE BASE SHEET MEMBRANE:
The roof deck must be smooth, dirt free, dry and free from irregularities. All exposed (open) edges must have wood nailers. In the case of
steel or masonry roof decks, wood nailers shall be provided around the perimeter of the roof and around all openings so fl ashings may be
securely fastened.
Begin all plies of roofi ng base sheet at the low points. Application will not be acceptable if at any point the fl ow of water is against the laps.
Install 1 ply of AWA NAILBASE, side lapped 2 in. and end lapped 4 in. Apply at a right angle to the slope of the roof. Fasten the sheet along
the lap at intervals of no more than 8 in. Stagger fasteners on 16 in. centers along 2 lines located 13 in. from each edge of the base sheet.
