9.6 Modem Operation
Where remote operation of a MICROTHERM is required, the system can be
configured to communicate over any telephone system using modems.
Select Edit / Communications / Modem setup… from the menu or click the
icon.
To activate the modem interface, place a tick mark in the Active control.
You will then be able to enter new values suitable for your own particular
installation.
The following points should be noted.
¤ Special control characters (such as carriage returns and line feeds)
must be entered as “dual character” sequences, i.e. ^M for carriage
return and ^J for line feed.
¤ Carriage returns and line feeds must be added to the end of any
transmitted command such as Initialise or Dial.
¤ The ~ character represents a 1 second delay.
