TROUBLESHOOTING (CONTD.)

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

REMEDY

9. Excessive vibration while running.

1. Drive system vibration.

1. Check drive belts and pulleys for bad or
worn areas. Check PTO shaft for wear.
Dull chipper blades or shredder knives.

2. Rotor out of balance.

2. Inspect rotor for broken or missing
chipper blades and shredder knives, repair
or replace if needed. Check rotor to see if
it wobbles. Check to see if rotor is
assembled correctly.

3. Chipper blade to anvil clearance is
incorrect.

3. Set chipper blade to anvil clearance to
recommended distance (1/16" to 1/8").

10. Rotor will not turn.

1. Drive belt too loose or broken.

1. Adjust or replace.

2. Obstructed discharge.

2. Use branch or similar object to clear
discharge.

3. Plugged rotor.

3. Clear rotor.

11. Cannot engage clutch.

1. Improper belt installation, belt not under
belt guide.

1. Install belt properly, install belt under
belt guide.

2. Binding of the push rod and clutch spring.

2. Rotate clutch spring.

3. Improper belt tension.

3. Tighten or loosen belt as needed.

12. Excessive belt wear.

1. Not using correct belt.

1. Contact your nearest authorized dealer
to order the correct belt for you chipper
shredder.

2. Pulley(s) damaged or wore.

2. Replace pulley(s).

3. Pulley(s) not in alignment.

3. Align pulley(s) with straight edge.

4. Belt(s) tension too loose.

4. Tighten belt(s) or replace.

13. Trailer sways during towing.

1. Tire air pressure not correct.

1. Check tire sidewall for inflation limits.
