Use the number buttons to input the correct password, then press the
SELECT button.
q To cancel the restriction (unlock the player):
• Press number button “1”, then press the SELECT button.
The screen in step 1 on page 44 reappears.
w To change the password:
• Press number button “2”.
• Use the number buttons to input the new password, then press the
SELECT button.
• Press the SELECT button.
The screen in step 1 on page 44 reappears.
e To change the rating level:
• Press number button “3”.
• Use the
• and ª cursor buttons or the number buttons to select the
desired level, then press the SELECT button.
The screen in step 1 on page 44 reappears.
r To temporarily cancel the restriction (unlock the player):
• Press number button “4”.
• Press the SELECT button.
The screen in step 1 on page 44 reappears.
• The temporary unlock setting will be in effect until the power is
switched OFF or set to STANDBY, as well as until the change is
made to the disc that will be played.
t To exit without changing the rating level:
• Press number button “0”.
The screen in step 1 on page 44 reappears.

* To return to the previous menu screen:
Press the RETURN button.
* To exit the default settings:
Press the SET UP button or number button “0” at the default setting screen in step 1 on page 44.
NOTE:
• Some discs may not be encoded with specific rating level information though its disc jacket says that it is for “adults”.
For those discs, the age restriction will not work.
