THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFTEY WARNING MUST BE READ
BEFORE THIS EQUIPMENT IS CONNECTED AND PLACED INTO SERVICE
BEFORE CONNECTION ENSURE THAT SUPPLY VOLTAGE MATCHES THAT SHOWN ON THE RATING PLATE
The Model 125 is an insulated 125 lb (58 kg) capacity Electrode Stabilising Oven, generally located in
the storage area and used to either maintain the electrodes in their dry state or dry out electrodes that
have picked up moisture. It is complete with controls recessed for protection removable shelves to
accommodate large loads, full insulation to prevent heat loss, pilot light to indicate oven operation and
a heating system incorporating 1000 watts of low density elements. Temperature thermostatically
controlled with a range of 100 to 550° (38-288ºC) F. Nesting feet and sockets ensure safe, easy
stacking.
Care must be taken to ensure that there is adequate free space around the oven to allow safe loading
and discharge of the load. It is essential that any user of this equipment takes all precautions when
loading and discharging the hopper. Eye protection, protective gauntlets, overalls and protective
footwear should be used at all times.
During use, the load and certain parts of the equipment may be heated to temperatures rising to 550ºF.
(288°C) All exposed parts of the body must be adequately earthed. Before any attempt is made to
remove any covers the supply must be isolated and precautions taken to ensure that it cannot be
restored whilst the init is being worked on.
USING THE OVEN
The oven is loaded via the front door. Care must be taken to avoid contact with hot surfaces during this
operation. The load should be distributed safely and evenly within the oven, using the shelves
provided, to ensure even heating of the electrodes. The shelves may be removed, if required, to
accommodate larger loads.
Heating times may vary according to the ambient temperature at which the electrodes were stored prior
to loading. An optional thermometer kit (Model T23) can be fitted to indicate the oven temperature.
