6. If you cannot screw into a wall stud, use 4 dry wall anchor bolts that spread out behind
the drywall. Select grommets that fit snugly around the bolts you have chosen. Be sure to
put a metal washer between the head of the bolt and the grommet.

Installing the Faceplate

1. Attach the speaker wires to the terminal block on the back of the faceplate, observing the
proper polarity (red to red and black to black). To make connections, solder or crimp with
high pressure the insulated fork terminals provided in your parts packet. Soldering is best.
You will need to connect the right or left signal wire to the top half of the ID1. Connect the
bottom halves of the ID1s to your subwoofer amplifier.

2. Position the speaker faceplate over the easy-mount box. Be careful to route the speaker
wire so it is not between the bottom of the box and a cage, or between the top ot the box
and the faceplate. If necessary, the wire may run alongside a cage. Screw in the faceplate
mounting bolts, gently tightening each one a little at a time, until the faceplate is moder-
ately snug. DO NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS ANY FURTHER. The rubber gasket provides
the seal.

3. Replace any shims (mentioned earlier) in their proper location. Use the grille mounting
flange driver to screw in the grille mounting flanges. The grille mounting flanges should be
used even if the grilles are not, as this gives the loudspeakers a finished appearance.

4. Attach the cloth grille by carefully pressing it into the grille mounting flanges.

Connecting to an Amplifier

1. Be sure the amplifier is turned off to avoid damage to the speakers.

2. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker outputs on your amplifier. Observe proper
polartity (red to red and black to black).
