e) Carefully stand the speaker up and

place it into its final listening position.

f) For placement on hard floors, round

metal shims are included. These have a
suitable port for the spikes and protect
the floor. Lay the metal shim under the
spike and carefully direct the speaker so
that the spike stands in the shim’s central
hole.

g) The spike’s counter nut allows exact

height adjustment.

h) Please set aside all unneeded accessory materials for possible later use, along

with the user manual and warranty card!

2. To achieve better acoustic isolation of centre or shelf speakers from the surface

on which they stand, some of these loudspeakers are shipped with 4 self-adhesive
rubber feet.

Soft foam to prevent loud basses

Depending on the acoustic properties of
the listening room and the positioning of the
loudspeakers, bass notes can occasionally
appear too loud.
Some AURUM speakers are therefore
supplied with pre-cut cylindrical pieces of
large-pore foam.
If low basses are unpleasantly loud in the
listening area, we recommend inserting this
foam cylinder into the bass reflex tube of
your AURUM speaker. But avoid pushing it
too far inside as you could have problems
removing it afterwards. A noticeable
improvement in bass reproduction can be
achieved this way.

Tonal adjustment of TITAN VIII

To adapt the new TITAN VIII individually to its new home — without distorting the
character of the sound — the speaker has finely adjustable filters on the frequency
separating filter.

There are three switches for this. Below, we would like to introduce you to each switch
and its uses:

Bass switch (LOW)

minus 2dB
This switch mainly decreases the low bass that often triggers strong room resonance,
leads to overlapping of the upper bass, making for imprecise bass overall.
Additionally, the impedance in the low bass takes on higher ohmic resistance,
making the TITAN VIII an even better match for amplifiers that have trouble with lower
impedances around 3 ohms — above all, tube amps.

plus 2dB
The plus 2dB switch also brings the lowest register below the 25Hz level and lifts
all the rest of the bass range to the high level. This is mainly desirable in very large
rooms or when more bass is wanted.
But be careful!
Impedance sinks to a low value of
barely 2 ohms, so that this setting is
possible only with very load-stable
output stages!
(see the right picture)

Carefully test this setting at lower
volumes and increase the volume
slowly.
