Congratulations on the purchase of your new RANDALL RD SERIES Amplifier! We at Randall Amplification appreciate that you chose our brand of guitar instrument

amplifiers and wish you years of great tone and enjoyable playing time with your new machine. Please review the safety instructions and be aware that the documentation

provided in this manual references 120volt USA versions of the models covered. Note that the POWER listed on the power supply should be for your countries’ power standard.

Class A Discrete instrument

level effects loop send. This

plugs into external pedal

effects unit input and feeds

signal from the Gain and Tone

knobs. Also serves as

unbalanced preamp output

send but will mute output

unless return jack receives

return signal.

1/4” Guitar input -

Plug your guitar into

this jack/connector.

GAIN KNOB - This knob works as

an aggressive all tube overdrive

circuit. It dynamically responds with

more overdrive as more input is fed

from your pickups. Turn to the right

for more saturation. For cleaner

tones, keep at lowest setting, turn

volume all the way up and use gain

knob as volume output control.

T.S.S. - Stands for “Tone Stack Shift” 3-way Midrange frequency variance switch.

!

Left- Midrange boost, with flat bass response and rolled off highs....great for smooth

burning lead tones

Center- The stock position with an even bass, mid, and treble response....perfect for

Rock

Right- Midrange scoop, with a boosted bass and treble response...perfect for metal

TONE KNOB - This is

an overall tonal sweep.

Turn to the left for more

bass (low frequencies)

and less treble (high

frequencies)

XLR ground lift

changes the ground

connection to fix

ground loops when

interfacing with other

equipment - use at

quietest setting for

best performance.

Speaker output - plug any (8 ohm or

greater) speaker cabinet into this jack.

(already connected on combo models)

For silent operation leave speaker

output unplugged. All of the functions

of the amplifier will operate as normal

except the speaker output. Note that

the amplifier has internal resistor to

offer simulated speaker impedance

POWER CABLE:

Note that this unit will

only operate safely in

the country or region

in which it is sold.

please contact your

distributor or dealer if

you are unsure of

mains voltage.

Class A Discrete instrument level

effects loop return. This plugs into

external pedal effects unit output

to complete signal “loop”. Also

serves as power amp input so

external preamp can be plugged

directly to power amp section with

active volume control and speaker

emulator XLR output.

VOLUME KNOB - Overall

volume output control. This

feeds the speaker output

and balanced XLR speaker

emulator output.

Note that to achieve cleaner

tones, turn volume all the

way up and use GAIN

KNOB as volume control.

XLR Balanced output is signal fed from the

output transformer including signal from the

output tube. This signal is then sent through

the speaker emulator which simulates the

sound and response of a mic’d up Randall

4x12 speaker cabinet. This function is useful

for direct (silent) recording, Direct send to PA/

FOH for silent stages, in ear monitor feed or

send to external power amp.

The Power

switch turns

the unit on

and off.
