For softer materials like most carbon steels, the chip width can be
increased,(without exceeding the maximum recommended chip width) the feed
rate can be increased, and the rpm can also be increased, again, there are no
fixed rules.
NOTE:

On the last finish pass, a lower feed rate, combined with a lower RPM and
a lesser chip width, will result in the best surface finish for most applica-
tions.
