SDI (VIDEO) SWITCHING
The SDI Switch Card is also a passive switching device. Again, relay contacts are used. The I/O connec-
tors are standard BNC type. This card is a cross switch. Two digital video signal sources are switched
between two receiving devices. For example, an SDI signal from digital camera A is fed to the switch card
and from there to digital monitor A. An SDI signal from digital camera B is fed to the switch card and from
there to digital monitor B. When the switch is thrown, camera A is connected to monitor B and camera B is
connected to monitor A. No signal paths are left without termination except during the actual switching
event. The actual contact exchange, including settling time, consumes a maximum of 6mS.
Analog video can also be switched on this card.
