Automated map display switching
GPS allows automated map switching, moving from one map display
to the next as the car progresses along a route instead of having to
manually shift from one map display to the next.
Upcoming intersection heads up signal
Greatly adding to driving convenience is this new Tone Guide feature
which generates a sound signal when the current display includes an
intersection. As the car continues to travel and approaches the
intersection, the sound is generated twice. This audible heads up frees
the driver from having to constantly refer to the map display, reducing
stress and allowing more driving enjoyment.
Intersection-to-intersection displays
On the map display, once the car leaves the area of the route's first
intersection, the display automatically shifts to a display that shows
the intersection most recently passed as well as the one coming up.
Quick POI information
Useful POI information is available at the touch of a button on the
desired category. From the selected category, the 5 closest POIs to the
car's current position are shown. Simply press on any displayed POI
and various details are shown.
Realtime progress reports
Helping to have an idea of the progress made on a travel route
reassures the driver. The GPS-linked CD7000 and CD5000 show
realtime readouts of the distance remaining to the next intersection as
the car travels. This is always onscreen regardless of the map type
being shown.
Aligning display with car’s
direction
It is always more user-friendly to have
the map display aligned with the
direction of travel. The map
automatically reorients so that the
car’s direction of travel agrees with
the compass needle, making it easier
to drive.
Full route simulation
Before traveling, this feature allows you to confirm the entire travel
route from START to GOAL and familiarize yourself with it.
NEW AREA SHOT
The CD7000 and CD5000 make best use of enhanced GPS functions to
assist driving when the optional GPS105 is connected.
The CD4000 and CD3000 will only show the
actual distance between two intersections as
the GPS105 cannot be used.
