To browse the library by genre
Either:
• Use the ^ or keys if necessary to highlight the
Genres option in the Library menu.

Select to confirm your selection.

• Press the GENRE key on your VIA!dj remote control.
The display(s) shows the genres available in your library:
Genres are displayed in alphabetical order.
• Press ^ or to step between genres.
To play all albums in a selected genre:
• Press
✔
Play to begin playback.
To play a particular album from the selected genre:
• Press
>
Open to display all the available albums in the
selected genre.
• Use the ^ or keys to step between albums.
Either:
• Press
✔
Play to play the currently selected album.
Or:
• Press
>
Open again to select a track from within this album.
Or:
• Press
<
to return to browsing by genre.
To browse the library by playlist:
Playlists allow you to create your own selections of tracks and
save them with a name of your choice such as
Party Musi c.
For more information about creating a playlist see To Create a
New Playlist p. 21-22.
Either:

Playlists option in the Library menu.
• Press

Select action key to confirm your selection.
Or:
• Press the PLAYLIST key on your VIA!dj remote control.
The front panel and TV screen both display the Playlists avail-
able in your library:
Playlists are displayed in alphabetical order.
Note: If you have not yet created any playlists the list will be
empty.
• Press the ^ or keys to step between playlists, or
press the appropriate letter on your VIA!dj remote control
to jump directly to the item in the list beginning with that
letter.

Play to begin playback.
SELECTING ITEMS DIRECTLY USING YOUR
VIA!DJ REMOTE CONTROL
You can select an album, artist, genre or playlist directly by the
first letter of its title using the alphanumeric keypad on your
VIA!dj remote control.
To select an album, artist, genre or playlist by name
• Display the appropriate library menu for the item you
want to find (e.g. Artist menu).
• Press the alphanumeric keypad key corresponding to the
first letter of the item you want to select.
For example: to find the artist Santessa press the ARTIST key
to display the Artist menu, then press the 7 key four times
because S is the fourth letter on the 7 key. The front panel and
TV screen show the first artist beginning with the letter S.
If there are several artists beginning with the letter S press the
key to step through until you find the artist you are looking
for.
To select a track by number:
• Display the list of tracks in the album or playlist.
• Press the key on the alphanumeric keypad corresponding
to the track number you want to select.
Selecting an album by number:
Each album you have recorded onto the Hard Disk of your
VIA!dj is allocated a sequence number, from zero upwards.
If you know the number of the album you want to listen to you
