Honda GL1800 (2001-2005) Audio Amplifier Installation Instructions

36. Power connections. Locate the

supplied fuse holder. If the fuse is in
the fuse holder, remove it now.
Connect the fuse holder to the positive

post on the right side of the battery.

Connect the other side of the fuse
holder to the large red wire in the amp
harness. Connect the large black wire
in the amp harness to the bolt that
connects the silver frame of the bike to
the black saddlebag sub frame just in
front of the trunk. Be sure to remove
the silver paint off the frame for the
best possible ground and to eliminate
noise. Refer to (Fig. 1-4) for ground
bolt.

Shop Tip:

37. Put a small flat washer on the battery

terminal screw. This will stop any

wires you have connected to the
battery terminal from rotating while

tightening the fastener.

Caution:
38. The battery terminal MUST be tight.

Failure to do so can cause the bike to
shut down when the started button is
depressed.

39. Turn on (remote) connection. To the

left of the battery is the bikes fuse

block. Remove the cover. At the top
of the block are two phillips head

screws. The top screw turns on when

the bikes key is turned on. Connect
the blue wire from the harness to the
top screw. Refer to (Fig. 2-4)

Fig 2-4

40. Front speaker connection preparation.

You will need to drill a hole in the side

of the speaker housing to run the wires
into. Drill a 3/8” hole in the lower
corner of the housing on the side of the

housing that faces the gauge cluster.

Refer to (Fig. 3-4) and (Fig. 1-5).
