EWIND
causes the drive to write all buffered logical objects to tape and then positions the tape at
BOM (beginning of media). Once a rewind is started, it will complete even if the SCSI operation is
aborted (for example, if the host selects and sends an abort message).

If the rewind is successful, unsolicited positional sense will indicate that the tape is at BOM by the
EOD bit being set and an additional sense code of 0004h (BOP).

1 The drive first writes any unwritten buffered data to tape. It then returns GOOD status to
the host before beginning the actual rewind operation.
