Gasoline is highly
flammable and explosive.

You can be burned or
seriously injured when
handling fuel.

Stop the engine and keep
heat, sparks, and flame
away.
Handle fuel only
outdoors.
Wipe up spills
immediately.

Engine Oil

STORAGE

Change the engine oil and the oil
filter (p.

).

Remove the spark plugs (p.

),

and remove the clip from the
emergency stop switch.

Pour a tablespoon (5

10 cm ) of

clean engine oil into each cylinder.

Rotate the engine a few
revolutions to distribute the oil in
the cylinders.

Reinstall the spark plugs (p.

).

Unhook the drain hose from the
front bracket clamp.

Set the end of the hose toward the
outside of the engine undercase.

Loosen the vapor separator drain
screw.

Tilt up the outboard motor.

After draining thoroughly, tighten
the drain screw securely.

Clamp the drain hose on the front
bracket clamp.

Drain the fuel tank into an
approved gasoline container, or if
you need to store fuel in the fuel
tank, you can extend fuel storage
life by filling the fuel tank with
fresh gasoline and adding a fuel
stabilizer that is formulated for
that purpose.

When the gasoline starts to flow
out of the drain hose, tilt up the
outboard motor and hold it in the
position until the gasoline stops
flowing. After draining the
gasoline completely, return the
outboard motor to the vertical
position.
