MAINTENANCE

BRUSH REPLACEMENT

a) Stop tractor engine, set parking brake and

remove ignition key.

b) Remove the 1/2" x 1 3/4" bolt (fig.1, item

1) from each broom side plate (fig.1, item

2) and remove the eight bolts (fig.1, item
3) which

secures

each side plate to broom

housing.

c) Remove broom side plates

with retainer cups

(fig.2, item 1), worn brushes and spacer

rings.

d) Place one concave slanted brush (fig.2,

item 2) on each side of gearbox facing each

other,

and install

a zigzag brush (fig.2,

item 3) next to each slanted brush [placing
pins (fig.2, item 4) inside the brush against
the concave

brush]. Install a spacer ring

(fig.2 , item 5) next to the zigzag brush

and place another zigzag brush with the pins
away

from

the spacer ring [important: pins

inside the zigzag

brushes

must all be

positioned on the

same brush support cone

(fig.2, item 6)]. Place another spacer

ring and a zigzag brush with the pins

(fig.2, item 4) on the spacer ring side

and so on, spacing brushes

with spacer

rings. Must end with a zigzag brush

with

the

pins towards

the gear box or check

figure

2 and redo pattern (fig.2, item 7).

IMPORTANT: Pins (fig.2 , item 4) in zigzag brushes

must all be on same brush support cone (fig. 2 ,

item

6 ) .

e) Install the side plates

with retaining cup

over each shaft end. Secure side plates

loosely

with the two 1/2" x 1 3/4" bolts

(fig.1, item 1), lockwashers and flatwashers.

f)

Install the eight 3/8" x 3/4" bolts (fig.1,

item 3) and lockwashers securing

each side

plate. Torque

all bolts.
